Shiri Lavy

Associate Professor at the University of Haifa (now living in Aalborg, Denmark), with a broad understanding of organizational psychology, leadership and HR development. An expert in well-being and practices that foster it in organizations and education institutions. I have experience in interventions in organizations to develop 21st century competencies and foster well-being.

Ph.D. in Social-Organizational Psychology from Bar-Ilan University (2006). I have taught and held research and faculty positions at different universities internationally, and worked as an organizational consultant.

My research and field work aim to help promote the development and well-being of individuals and organizations, with a special focus on education organizations. My main topics are:
1) Relationships (especially in organizations)
2) Personal strengths and their use (including character strengths and 21st century competencies).
3) A sense of meaning – as a key ethical motivator that promotes performance & well-being.

My research (with students and colleagues) has resulted in ~50 publications in international outlets (cited >3300 times), presentations and keynotes. I am experienced in leading projects and securing funding, and have also served the international positive psychology community in editorial and leadership roles (e.g., Co-Editor of the Journal of Happiness Studies, conference chair, etc.).
