Education
We can learn to train our minds, to access deeper well-being for ourselves and for others.
Contemplative education illuminates a path of internal inquiry, unleashing our abilities to discover our own inner compass, through experience and practice.
CCR Education Program Outputs
Curricula
Accessible training in theoretical and experiential contemplative inquiry across six dimensions of mental balance: conative, ethical, attentional, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual. Teaching methods prioritize learning through focused attention and introspection and include an array of meditative practices that help learners cultivate compassion and genuine well-being. Impact is to be empirically researched in collaboration with CCR scientists.
Community Content
Broadly resonant public educational offerings including group introductory meditations and guidance in contemplative philosophy (in-person and virtual), access to curated teachings by CCR founders and contributors, release of an upcoming podcast, publication of articles and essays, facilitation of group dialogue, and beyond.
Retreats & Events
Deeper teachings with and dialogues among CCR experts and other thought leaders, engaging a variety of perspectives and traditions, to find shared wisdom and invigorate the many avenues toward contemplative discovery and well-being that span cultures and traditions.
A Framework For Our Time
The CCR provides accessible educational tools through which we can, on our own terms, investigate the nature of our minds and consciousness, and discover or deepen avenues toward a genuine flourishing that takes us beyond stimulus-driven distractions that increasingly consume us.
Our curricula and training modules in reflective and contemplative methods are grounded in deep pedagogical and psychological expertise, that span the six forms of intelligence described in the CCR’s Sixfold Matrix of Mental Balance: conative, ethical, attentional, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual.
Toward Comprehensive Mental Balance
The wisdom traditions of the world—from the ancient to the contemporary disciplines—offer tried and true guideposts and inform the CCR’s well-rounded approach to contemplative education. The CCR’s approach goes beyond just stress reduction and focus, facilitating comprehensive investigation into what it means to thrive with ethics, resilience, and creativity, even amid steep challenges. The CCR will apply rigorous testing and research methods to ensure educational impact and share pedagogical frameworks with the world.
