Michael Kimball, Ph.D.

Professor of Anthropology

Spearheading the Center for Applied Contemplative Studies, my stewardship revolves around mindfulness meditation initiatives and the fostering of intercultural exchange. With over a decade at the University of Northern Colorado, my tenure has been marked by cultivating spaces where collective wisdom thrives, integrating contemplative practices with academic rigor.

My expertise lies in bridging the gaps between different cultural groups, elevating the importance of mindfulness in conflict transformation, and preserving cultural heritage. Collaborating with various entities, from immigrant centers to international research organizations, my mission is to harness contemplative insights for societal benefit, with a focus on ethical contemplative research and education.
