Meditation Session

Description

This the meditation audio is from Clara Seeger’s Ghatika Monthly session titled “Observing the Meditating Mind: Micro-Phenomenology and Our Daily Practice” (September 2025). This is the first of two meditations from the session, in which Clara cues us to settle the body, speech, and mind, and then guides the main practice of settling the mind in its natural state (also known as “taking the impure mind as the path” and “shamatha focused on the mind”).

In the second meditation (listen here), Clara guides us in a micro-phenomenological examination of our own meditative experience, asking us to make retrospective observations about our minds and that which appeared in the mental domain during this first meditation.

What is Ghatika Monthly?

Ghatika Monthly is an in-person and virtual gathering held on the 2nd Saturday of every month, in which CCR expert teachers offer accessible guidance in foundational yet transformative contemplative practices. Ghatika is the Sanskrit term for one 24-minute meditation session, which is the recommended length for beginning meditators. We offer these sessions freely to ensure that anyone can access contemplative techniques for cultivating a healthier, more balanced mind.
